Alzheimers disease is an irreversible, progressive brain deterioration that can occur in middle or old age, due to generalized degeneration of the brain. Alzheimers is the most common cause of dementia, a general term for loss of cognitive functioning thinking, remembering, reasoning and behavioral abilities. In dementia severe stage person must depend completely on others for basic activities of daily living.
