Regenerative Neurology

The aim of Regenerative Neurology is to encourage regeneration of the damaged nervous system to restore function. In neurodegenerative diseases, the symptoms arise because the nerve cells, called neurons, die. The processes that ultimately lead to the death of neurons are many and complex, and are not yet fully understood. The diagnosis understandings with a neurodegenerative disease each year and at present they are all progressive and incurable. Our primary focus is on defining the regional localization and the biological properties of neural stem cells during embryonic and postnatal development .The cells of the brain and nervous system show an inherently low regeneration capacity in case of injury and ageing. This cluster entails programmes with focus on understanding the cellular mechanisms underlying injury and repair in the nervous system.
