Malignant melanoma is a highly dangerous form of skin cancer. It is a neoplasm of melanocytes. The melanoma begins in the melanocytes or pigment producing cells found in the outer layer of the skin (epidermal cell). These cells grow in uncontrolled manner and form a tumor.
