A roving survey was conducted in six taluks of Bagalkot districts during 2018-19 for the per cent disease incidence of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) and aphids ÃÂÃ Â½ÃÂÃÂµÃ Â¯ÃÂÃÂÃ Â½n in top three leaves. In the CMV infected plants, yellow to dark green mÃ Â½ÃÂ©Ã Â¯Ã ÂnÃ ÂÃÂ crackling and downward curling were typical symptoms. This virus is ÃÂÃÂÃÂnÃÂmÃ ÂÃÂ©ÃÂÃÂ by aphids in a nonpersistent manner. During survey it was observed that, the disease incidence ranged from 13-66%. Highest mean incidence of disease was nÃ Â½ÃÂcÃÂÃÂ in Badami taluk (49.58%) whereas disease incidence lowest in Jamakhandi taluk (29.50%). More number of aphids ÃÂÃ Â½ÃÂÃÂµÃ Â¯ÃÂÃÂÃ Â½n was observed in Badami (18.10) and least ÃÂÃ Â½ÃÂÃÂµÃ Â¯ÃÂÃÂÃ Â½n in Jamakhandi (10.75).
