Biography
I am currently working as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. After completing MBBS from Calcutta in 1997, I went to the UK and completed in MRCP in 2003. I joined the Beatson Cancer Centre at Glasgow for higher specialist training in 2005. Completed my FRCR in 2008 and obtained my CCT in 2010. As a post-CCT Research Fellow at the Christie Hospital, Manchester, I played a key role in the development of Hypo-fractionated Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) for lung cancers. I have also been involved in setting up studies with advanced IGRT techniques. Before joining TMC, I was working as Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (August 2011-September 2013), and was the radiotherapy lead for Lung and Head & Neck cancers. I was also responsible for leading the development of IMRT for head & neck at Aberdeen, using RapidArc.I have a keen interest in academics and service development and my primary clinical interest is treatment of lung cancer. My current focus is on the implementation of 4D CT planning and SBRT for lung cancers.
