Biography
I completed my General Surgery Residency from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, and Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. I joined the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota as an Assistant Professor in 2006 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013.
I serve as the Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota. I am also the Associate Program Director for the Plastic Surgery Fellowship program. I previously served was the Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center. I am an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of the Plastic Surgery Research Council, an Executive Council Member of the Minnesota Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of the other professional associations, and I serve on various educational and journal editorial subcommittees.
Research Interest
My clinical Expertise includes, breast surgery, cosmetic surgery, facial reconstruction, peripheral nerve surgery, ocuoplastics, post-bariatric surgery body contouring and cancer reconstruction. My research interests focus on clinical and outcomes research, breast reconstruction, wounds, cancer reconstruction and microsurgery.
