Biography
I received my Masters and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Mysore, India in the years 2005 and 2010, respectively. I then started working at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as Postdoctoral fellow. I am working on projects focused on the development of novel immunomodulatory and therapeutic approaches as well as pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Multiple sclerosis (MS), and type 1 diabetes (T1D). My interest is to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of regulation of autoimmunity and the immunological basis of susceptibility to autoimmune disease. In addition, consequences involving degeneration of target-organ/tissue and cross-talk between innate-adaptive immunity as well as regulation of these events by therapeutic intervention are other areas of interest to me.
So far, I have published 27 journal articles and 3 book chapters. I also serve as an Editorial Board Member for 3 international peer-reviewed journals and reviewer for number of reputed international journals.
