Biography

Associate Professor in Molecular and Computation Pathology, University College London, London, United Kingdom Associate Professor in Molecular, Cellcular and Computational Medicine, Director of Genomic Medicine Group, College of Medicine, University of Sharjah, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates Rifat Hamoudi is currently associate professor and director of Genomic Medicine Group in University of Sharjah, UAE as well as being associate professor in molecular and computational pathology in UCL, UK. He received his Ph.D degree in 2011 from Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge, UK. Afterwards, he joined UCL to setup personalised medicine laboratory, then became associate professor working on the molecular and cellular signalling of biomarkers for various cancers including oesophageal, prostate, breast and lung cancer. In 2017, he joined University of Sharjah to head the Genomic Medicine Group. He holds chartered scientist and chartered engineer status from the UK. He is member of British Computer Society, Pathological Society, Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Council.

Research Interest

His research interests include understanding the role of inflammatory signalling pathways in the development of cancers and autoimmune diseases, the role of immune response in disease prevention and cure using photo and sonodynamic therapy and the use of genomics and bioinformatics to elucidate the signalling pathways and mechanism underlying the pathology of various diseases.
