Andrea Weghofer, Department of Gynecological Endocrinology & Reproductive Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria
Biography
Dr. Weghofer graduated from the Medical University of Vienna. She obtained her PhD as the first graduate of the University?s Reproductive Endocrinology program. Dr. Weghofer completed her residency training at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medical University in Vienna and did a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Genetics at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (including reproductive endocrinology & infertility) and in Human Genetics. In the course of international research collaborations Dr. Weghofer concentrates her research efforts on in vitro fertilization, ovarian senescence and reproductive genetics. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and has won a number of national and international awards for her scientific work. Currently Dr. Weghofer serves as section editor for Reproductive Biomedicine Online. She was appointed Vice president of Austria?s Society of Reproductive Medicine and of Austria?s Medical Chamber?s Board Certificate Committee for Obstetrics & Gynecology.
