Alexander (Sasha) Kagansky
Director, Centre for Genomic and Regenerative Medicine, School of Biomedicine, Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russia
Research in his centre is aimed at the understanding of the molecular basis of complex homeostasis in healthy tissues and cancer, which will define the future of molecular medicine. In his studies he combines genetics, synthetic and chemical biology, biochemistry, metabolomics, and proteomics. Apart from the fundamental research in the lab (regularly published in jupurnals such as Science, Cell, etc), Sasha Kagansky regularly organizes public engagement of future technologies for different target groups in different parts of the world, which result in new collaborations between scientists and innovators. He is a member of Global Young Academy, Young Academy of Scotland, Innogen institute, and Mason Institute for Medicine, Life Sciences and the Law. He is a recipient of Saltire Fellowship to develop medical technologies in 2017 in Babson (Boston, USA).
