Biography

I am a Vascular Surgeon with 20 years of both clinical and research experience specializing in arteriosclerotic and aneurysmal disease. My past and current research experience has focused on experimental and clinical results of a variety of stent-grafts for thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, and I have participated in clinical trials involving carotid stenting, making me a subject matter expert in the field of cerebrovascular and aortic aneurysmal diseases. My department sees over 400 patients annually with aortic aneurysms and an equal number with carotid arteriosclerotic disease, giving me an extensive expertise in the study of both. Over the past 20 years I have been developed in clinical research for both aneurysmal and carotid arterial disease. I have served as Principal investigator on several aortic stent-graft studies, and the Carotid Revascularization Endarterectomy versus Stent (CREST) trial.
