Biography

Dr. Vermeer graduated with high honors in Biology from Brandeis University (Waltham, MA). She went on to obtain her PhD from Columbia University (New York, NY) in developmental neurobiology. She did her post-doctoral work with Dr. Michael J. Welsh, Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator and member of the National Academy of Science at the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA).

Research Interest

Dr. Vermeer’s research is translational in nature and focuses head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, drug resistance and defining mechanisms of metastasis.
