Biography
Dr. Sijo Joseph Thandapilly is an Adjunct Professor at Department of Human Nutritional Sciences, University of Manitoba and a Visiting Fellow at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Sijo obtained his Ph.D. degree in Physiology from the University of Manitoba, M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the University of Bharathiyar, India. His research work is primarily focused on studying cardiovascular health benefits of functional foods and bio-actives derived from cereal grains using animal and human trials. He works in conjunction with other researchers and the industries to examine the effect on cereal derived functional foods on various aspects of metabolic syndrome.
