Biography
Dr. Talukder, Chair & Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ben & Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy, The University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler, TX. As Chair, responsible for hiring faculty in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, initiating faculty mentoring, finding opportunities for faculty development, developing curriculum and application documents for submission to Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Often serve as an ACPE Site Visit Team member, ACPE CPE Field Reviewer, and North American Pharmacy Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) item writer.
Research Interest
Research experience includes formulation development, preparation, physicochemical characterization, and in-vitro evaluation of oral drug delivery systems. Design and execute preformulation studies such as pH solubility and stability profile, polymorph screening, and excipients compatibility studies for small molecules. Conduct solid state characterization using different analytical techniques such as Microscopy, XRD, DSC, TGA, FTIR, and HPLC. Investigate the role of drug polymer interaction in improving dissolution rate and amorphous state stabilization. Improve solubility of poorly soluble small molecule employing different techniques such as solid dispersion, lipid based formulations, and complexation. Develop solid dispersion formulation (using spray drying and rotary evaporator) demonstrating enhanced dissolution rate and prepare amorphous drug using lyophilization, solvent evaporation, and quench cooling techniques.
