Pasquale Longo

Pasquale Longo Pasquale Longo
Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biology, University of Salerno, Italy.

Biography

Pasquale Longo was born in Giffoni sei Casali (SA), Italy, in 1955 and received his degree in Chemistry in 1979 from the University of Naples. His research activity was first directed to the synthesis and characterization of group 10 organometallic compounds and related catalytic applications, then he became active in the area of stereospecific polymerization catalysis. He currently works in the field of synthesis of organometallic compounds having biological activity, in the synthesis of new ruthenium complexes active in the metathesis reactions and in microstructural characterization of stereoregular polymeric materials, obtained both via polyaddition and ring opening metathesis polymerization, moreover he is interested to stereoselective ring closing metathesis of alfa-omega dienes.
