Biography
Dr. M. Amin-ul Mannan holds a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology from prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He is currently working as Assistant Professor and Head of Molecular Microbiology lab at Lovely Professional University since 2016. He also worked as Post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA. He contributed to developing genetic screens, cell-based assays for identification of novel suppressor mutations. He is a specialist in the transcriptomic analysis using yeast as a model organism. His current research is understanding the unfolded protein response pathway and fungal pathogenesis. At present, he is having funded project from the government of India in executing the same and developing fungal based diagnostic system. Dr. Mannan is a member of the Indian Science Congress and at past was a member of the American Society of Microbiology and America Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
