Department of marine biology, College of Marine Life Science, Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China.
Dr. Huarong Guo got her bachelor degree from Ocean University of China (1988-1992), and done Master and PhD degree from Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (1994-2001). She became an executive council member of shandong society for cell biology (China) since 2014. Currently she is a professor in Department of Marine Biology, Ocean University of China.
She focuses on the development of shrimp continuous cell line, derived from the adult tissues and early embryos of economically important penaeid shrimps. To this aim, a series of methods for immortalization transformation and reprogramming have been tried in the shrimp primary cells. She had also done some works on the In-vitro and In-vivo safety assessment of cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, embryotoxicity and teratogenicity of environmental pollutants using cultured fish cells, embryos and adult of zebrafish. She also have wide interests in the developmental biology and conservation of aquatic marine organisms like coral, jellyfish and fish species.
