Prior she worked as assistant professor of Carolyn McKelvey Moore School of Nursing, College of Health Sciences at University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, Arkansas, USA. She has been selected for the Judith Braun Award for research excellence from the National Gerontological Nursing Association (NGNA). She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American Nurse Association, Korean Nurses Association and NGNA.

Biography

Youngmi Kang PhD, RN has begun her position as an assistant professor of Carolyn McKelvey Moore School of Nursing, College of Health Sciences at University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, Arkansas, the United States. Youngmi Kang earned her MSN in adult nursing from Ewha Womans University, and majored Ph.D in geriatric nursing with minored in nursing system from University of Arizona in Tucson, USA. Youngmi Kang has considerable experience to provide theory and clinical instruction to baccalaureate and graduate students in medical/surgical and intensive care units in the United States and Korea. Youngmi Kang presented several publications and poster and podium presentations at both local and international conferences. Youngmi Kang has been selected for the Judith Braun Award for research excellence from the National Gerontological Nursing Association (NGNA). Youngmi Kang is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American Nurse Association, Korean Nurses Association, and NGNA. Youngmi Kang?s hobbies are hiking, singing and jogging.

Research Interest

Her research interests include health promotion and help-seeking behaviors of chronic illnesses including dementia, urinary incontinence and osteoporosis in minority older adults. She is also interested in the development of instruments in cross-cultural research, healthcare-associated infection and research ethics.
