Biography
Dr. Yates is a board-certified surgeon and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at University of Washington. His clinical responsibilities are at the University of Washington Surgical Services and Hernia Center at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Yatesââ¬â¢ clinical practice includes many aspects of general surgery, however he has specialized training and a particular interest in the surgical management of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and the treatment of hernias.
Dr. Yates received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency training in general surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He then completed a two-year Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship in the Center for Videoendoscopic Surgery at the University of Washington. During this Fellowship, he focused exclusively on advanced surgical management of benign and malignant diseases of the stomach and esophagus as well as surgical treatment of complicated abdominal wall hernias.
