Biography
Dr. Juan Garona obtained his PhD from the National University of Quilmes (UNQ), Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he worked on breast cancer microenvironment and drug development. His research mainly focused on hormone analogues targeting tumour and endothelial cells, and their effect on angiogenesis and metastatic progression of the disease. On 2010 he obtained his M.Sc. degree in Biotech with a specialization in Molecular Genetics, from the Science and Technology Department, UNQ. He is a Researcher member of the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET) and currently works as an Assistant Professor of Human Physiology both at UNQ. Dr. Garona is involved in several collaborative clinically based research programs at the Translational Medicine Research Center at El Cruce Hospital and at the Breast Pathology Unit at the Italian Hospital, both in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
