Biography
Weihua Huang, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Pathology and Director of Genomics Core Laboratory at New York Medical College. He graduated with Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He uses the state-of-the-art next-generation sequencing technology and the following bioinformatics data analysis to work on: 1) development of novel diagnostic methods in clinical and molecular genetics for rapid and sensitive detection of genetic variants; 2) using target panel sequencing, whole exome sequencing, and RNAseq for genome-wide profiling and identification of genetic variants; and 3) functional characterization of pathogenic variants, including single nucleotide polymorphism, copy number variation, and gene fusion/translocation.
