Biography
For 25 years, Dr. Novis practiced clinical and anatomic pathology. He served as Chief of Pathology and Medical Director of Clinical Laboratories at Wentworth Douglass Hospital (WDH) Dover, NH; York Hospital, York, ME; the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Student Health Services, Durham, NH and was a Trustee of WDH. During his tenure in the Seacoast region of NH, he was a Director of Path Lab Inc., a regional clinical laboratory in Portsmouth, NH; founded Physicians Professional Management Corporation, a medical billing and practice management company, and was a founding and managing partner of Northeast New England Pathology Associates, a consortium of regional pathology groups.He is the past president of the NH Society of Pathologists and is currently their Legislative and Political Affairs Advisor. He is also an adviser to the UNH Department of Health Management & Policy.Dr. Novis received his undergraduate degree from Knox College, his medical degree from the University of Vermont, and his post graduate degrees from the University of California at San Francisco.
