Dr Azita Hekmatdoost has received her MD and PhD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in the field of Clinical Nutrition. She completed a fellowship in the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at CFRI, University of British Columbia. Currently, she is working as an Associate Professor at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU). Her primary research and teaching interests include clinical nutrition and diet therapy in GI and liver disorders. Dr. Hekmatdoost has received several awards and honors, such as Faculty Member with the Most Accomplishment Award at SBMU, in two consecutive years (2012, 2013). She also serves as an editorial member of several reputable journals such as the Journal of Liver and Clinical Research & Journal of Food and Nutrition Expert. She has published more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is an author of five books.
