Biography

Dr Morales has had a distinguished career in preventive medicine; first, as a general practitioner, then after subspecializing in cardiology. Among his accomplishments after earning basic degrees and qualifications, he has published extensively. This work has been acclaimed world-wide as original and meaningful in clinical practice. He has also been involved in teaching, both at the research and clinical levels, currently holding the position as Chair of Teaching in the Board of National Cardiology Group in his country. Dr Morales is also a well-known national and international speaker. Specifically, he serves as Associate Professor and Researcher, Medical University of Villa Clara, in the many projects he has begun, and also in the Post-operative and Cardiac Imaging Departments in the tertiary Cardiovascular Hospital. He has received the ?Best Young Scientist in the Medical Sciences award in Cuba, 2007, and is a member of the Board of National Hypertension Group. He is also Chairperson of the International Consensus about mild HTN with low-moderate cardiovascular risk group, 2017, and a member of the Task Force of the Latin American Society of HTN, 2017. He has recently been recognized by the World Heart Federation as an Emerging Leader, and has completed additional training and interaction at the advanced degree level at Harvard University.
