Biography
Ajai Prakash Gupta received his PhD at Central Institute of Medicinal Plants, (CIMAP-CSIR), Lucknow where he studied the method development for bioactive constituents of various medicinal and aromatic plants under the guidance of Scientist M. M. Gupta. In 2002, he joined the Institute of Himalayan bio-resource technology, Palampur and worked on various high altitude medicinal plants. In 2007, he transferred to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, (IIIM-CSIR), Jammu where he currently holds the position of Senior Technical Officer in Quality control & Quality Assurance and working on method development for various bioactive natural products.
He has published more than 80 papers in refereed journals, written 8 book chapters, 6 patents and 23 conferences and 18 invited talks in various fields in India and abroad. Dr. Gupta also has 10 best paper awards.
Research Interest
Research programmers in the Natural Plant Products Division, IHBT-CSIR, Palampur, Preparation of standard drugs, reference standards of opium alkaloids for Instrumental analysis: Morphine, Codeine, Cryptopine, Thebaine, Papaverine and Narcotine, Analysis of opium samples and its derivatives by using GC,HPLC, GC-MS and conventional methods. Analysis of store samples: Activated carbon, Filter aid, Furnace oil, Filter cloth etc.
