Biography

Dr. Eltoukhy received his Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt. He then received his Master’s degree from the same university in the field of mechatronics utilizing the skills he gained during his research work at Bremen University, Germany, as part of the student exchange program.Dr. Eltoukhy then joined the College of Engineering, University of Miami. In 2011, he received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering, in the field of biomechanics. He was also inducted for the Alpha-Pi-Mu Industrial Engineering honor society award for his noticeable work in the field.After receiving his Ph.D. degree, Dr. Eltoukhy continued to conduct his research work in the field of biomechanics at the College of Engineering, University of Miami, where he worked as a Post-Doctoral Associate. Dr. Eltoukhy’s research work resulted in a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, conference proceedings, and scientific magazines. During his appointment as a Post-Doctoral Associate, Dr. Eltoukhy served as the Assistant Director of the University of Miami’s Industrial Assessment Center (MIIAC) which received the 2013 “Center of Excellence Award” from the U.S. Department of Energy.In August 2013, Dr. Eltoukhy accepted his Assistant Professor position in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Sciences, School of Education and Human Development at UM. Dr. Eltoukhy’s current research areas include: gait analysis, musculoskeletal modeling, camera-less motion capture, spine biomechanical modeling, joint cartilage modeling, development of robots-assisted teaching and therapy paradigm for typically developed and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
