J. Vijaya Ratna joined in Andhra University as Lecturer on 24-04-1980 and extending her services till date. She was promoted as Senior Lecturer on 24-04-1986 and as Associate Professor on 24-04-1994. On 24-04-2002, J. Vijaya Ratna was promoted as Professor. J. Vijaya Ratna did her B.Pharm (1977), M.Pharm (1979), PGDAS (1981) and Ph.D (1998) at Andhra University Campus and won "M.L. Khorana Gold Medal" for standing University FIRST in graduation. She has teaching and research experience of 31 years. She has published 61 research papers and attended 50 seminars and symposia. She had 3 patents. She is a life member of IPA - Indian Pharmaceutical Association, APTI - Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India, IHPA - Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association, IPGA - Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association, IAPST - India Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and Technologists, POWER - Pharmacists' Organization for Women Empowerment and Research.

Micro encapsulation, Bio-equivalence and in Vitro-in Vivo Correlation, Permeation enhancers for Ointment and Gel formulations, Study of Ion-Exchange Resinate Formation, Development and Evaluation of Micro-moderate, Transdermal Therapeutic systems, Cyclodextrin complexation, Development of controlled drug delivery systems for antitubercular and for antihypertensive agents.
