Biography

Dr. Kuladip Jana, M.Sc., M.S., Ph.D., Post-doctorate (USA) was born and brought up in Purba-Medinipur District of West Bengal, India. Dr. Jana is presently serving as a Senior Scientist in the Division of Molecular Medicine and Scientist-In-Charge of the Centre for Translational Animal Research, Bose Institute, Kolkata, India. Dr. Jana was trained as a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Molecular Endocrinology and Reproduction in relation with Aging in Garrison Institute on Aging, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Centre, Texas, U.S.A. and in Vaccine development against Cholera and Typhoid in National Institute of Cholera & Enteric Diseases, Kolkata, India and also in the field of Molecular signalling regulating cell growth/survival and death/apoptosis in cancer cells in Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata after obtaining his M.S. and Ph.D. in Reproductive Medicine from W. B. University of Animal Sciences., Kolkata, India and Vidyasagar University, India. Presently, Dr. Jana's laboratory focusing on Translational Research in the diverse direction i.e. Natural flavonoids Induced Apoptosis in Cervical and Breast Cancer Cells: Role of ?- catenin and Wnt signalling, Molecular signalling of Protein kinase-D and ?-Catenin interaction in cancer progression, Ageing associated oxidative stress & testicular gametogenic and steroidogenic disorders: Ameliorating potential of natural antioxidants, Alzheimer's disease in relation with StAR gene expression and the possible prevention by natural polyphenols, Prostate and Testicular carcinogenesis in relation with steroidogenesis and StAR protein expression: role of MAPKs, Molecular signalling of germ cell apoptosis by Benzo(a)pyrene and its protection by natural aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) antagonist as well as Diabetes and Endurance exercise induced systemic & Reproductive disorders and its protection by natural flavonoids and to search the link between Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. In the developmental work, Dr. Jana established a State of the Art pre-clinical animal research facility ?Centre for Translational Animal Research?, in Bose Institute, Kolkata. Dr. Jana also developed a Non-surgical Chemical Sterilization drug for male animals in the course of his Ph.D. work. Dr. Jana also serving as a CPCSEA, Govt. of India Nominee in several National Research Institutes and Universities to monitor their animal based research works. Based on this research and fellowship training Dr. Jana received several awards and honours, such as: Young Investigator Award, 2011 & International Scientist of the Year, 2011, Young Scientist Award, 2012 & 2014, Outstanding Scientist Award, 2015, Bharat Bikas Award, 2017 etc. From USA, Canada, UK & India. He is serving as an Editorial Board Member of several reputed International Journals. He has also authored many international research articles/books.
