Biography

I am a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist currently practicing as an Associate Professor of Cardiac Anesthesia at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, Richmond, VA. I graduated with an M.D. in 1978 from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India before arriving in the U.S.A. in 1982. I did a residency in General Surgery at Harlem Hospital Medical Center, N.Y. before switching to a Residency in Anesthesiology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. which I completed in 1990. I then completed a Fellowship in CT Anesthesia at the Cleveland Clinics in 1991. On completing my fellowship, I was the Director of Cardiac Anesthesia at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose, CA for 10 years. I was an Assistant Professor (VCF) at Stanford University Medical Center during this period. I then proceeded to private cardiac anesthesia in Las Vegas for 6 years before relocating to Richmond, VA.
