Biography

Since 2013, Jhy-Charm Soo has been a Research Industrial Hygienist with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in Morgantown, West Virginia. His research focuses on reducing workplace-related adverse health effects associated with exposures to various hazardous chemicals (including crystalline silica, and volatile organic compounds), as well as the development of sampling and analytical methods to further advance our understanding of these issues. He has published 13 peer-reviewed articles in respected scientific journals, 3 more under peer review, and over 20 conference abstracts. In addition, for his work, he received an Alice Hamilton Award in 2015 from NIOSH.
