Biography

Dr. David, Hsion-Wen Kuo is an associate professor of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Tunghai University (THU), Taiwan. Started from August 2016, he also serves as a director for the Sustainability Science and Engineering Program of International College at THU. He earned his PhD degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2006 and his MS (1996) and BS (1994) degrees in Environmental Engineering from the National Cheng-Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan. Before joined THU, he had worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and at the Center for Water Sciences in Michigan State University (MSU) for two years; and then, in the Biotechnology Center in Southern Taiwan, Academia Sinica for one and half years.

Research Interest

His research interests include water quality with focuses on occurrence of pathogenic agents in waters, treatment and reuse of water/wastewater with focuses on biological processes, and renewable biofuel from wastes.
