Biography
Dr Yu-Hong Wei is a full professor of Graduate School of Biotechnology and Bioengineering in Yuan Ze University Taiwan. His contributions to the academia and bio-industry are numerous including the fermentation processes development on bio-specialty chemicals biocosmeticts biopharmaceuticals, biopolymers and biofuels, and food processing technologies. He has authored more than 70 SCI papers and book chapters and earned many awards and honors, including the Young Asian Biotechnologist Prize 2010 by the Society for Biotechnology, Japan (SBJ) and the highest research performance award in Yuan Ze University. The main contribution Wei made is in the application of molecular biology methods and biochemical engineering techniques to the production of many novel compounds. Some of these products are now developed by local industrial partners. He is also active in academia-industry collaboration and service works in Taiwans science.
