Biography
I completed my postgraduate training in orthopaedics in 1990. Since then I have worked in various capacities in orthopaedics. I received advanced training in orthopaedics in UK, especially in adult reconstructive surgeries and orthopaedic oncology. Presently I am heading the department of orthopaedics at Government Medical College, Chandigarh which is ranked among top 20 medical colleges in India. Besides teaching undergraduate medical students, every year we train 6 postgraduate students and 13 post-doctoral trainees in orthopaedics. My areas of interest are adult reconstruction and orthopaedic oncology. I established orthopaedic oncology unit at Government Medical College, Chandigarh which is now the largest centre for managing bone & soft tissue tumours in north India. I am also involved in various ongoing research projects in the department. I was awarded A A Mehta Gold Medal by Indian Orthopaedic Association for original research work. Besides medical education, research and clinical interests, I like to travel, reading and cricket.
