Biography

I Rosa Calvello born on 7, January , 1957 at Irsina (Matera). EDUCATION 1990, degree in Natural Sciences,University of Bari (Italy) 1995, Ph D in Human and Experimental Morphology, University of Bari, Italy ACTUAL POSITION January 2004 to present: Researcher in Human Anatomy University of Bari, Italy FIELD OF STUDY: Computational biology applied in the areas of nucleic acid and protein sequence research, molecular evolution, molecular genetics whit particular reference to chemokine receptors and mitochondrial carriers sequence evolution. Study of mediators of the inflammatory processes involved in neurodegeneration both in in vivo experimental models and in in vitro cultures of neurons and glial cells. Polyphenols: potential therapeutic applications of polyphenols related to diet in the course of chronic inflammatory diseases on inflammatory basis. Study of newly synthesized molecules for anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer: a) selective inhibitors for the cyclo-oxygenase (COX) type 1 and 2.
