Biography

Dr. Yu graduated from Hebei Normal University and teaches the Anatomy and Histology, Human and Animal Physiology, and her research focuses on relationship of iron metabolism with Alzheimers diseases (AD), Parkinsons disease (PD) and exercises. She is the chief investigator of some national and local funded projects. Her published works have found that iron metabolism are related closely to PD, AD and exercises, and that iron liposomes can prevent or cure iron deficiency anaemia caused by exercises. Dr. Yu has some experiences in synchrotron-based X-ray fluorescence for detection of element distribution and quantification, transmission electron microscope, confocal laser scanning microscopy. She is also interested in MRI imaging for iron distribution and synchrotron-based diffraction imaging in the brain. She is a member of international bioiron society and national free radical biological society.
