Biography
I was born in 1972 in a small town of Northeast China and entered the Department of Chemistry at Jilin University, one of the famous universities in China, especially chemistry, because I was very interested in chemistry. After graduation from Jilin University, I decided to study natural product chemistry which focuses on purification and identification of the active components of traditional Chinese herb medicines. At that time, the structure of an alkaloid has given me great interest in the biosynthesis of natural products, so my current research is focused on the biosynthesis of natural products, mainly belonging to alkaloids, aiming at revealing enzymatic mechanisms involved in the biosynthesis of biologically active microbial alkaloids and creating structural diversities via the combination of chemical and biological methods.
Research Interest
