Biography

I am currently a Research Associate at University of Virginia Health System. After receiving my medical degree from Dalian Medical University in China, I began to study the molecular and pathophysiological mechanisms of metabolic disorders at Peking University Health Science Center and received my Ph.D. in 2013. After graduation, I continued my postdoctoral research at AstraZeneca-Shenzhen University Joint Institute of Nephrology and initiated my own research on the metabolic nephropathy. I was well funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Young Scientists Fund) and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation as an independent principal investigator. Since 2016, I have joined the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at University of Virginia Health System. In capacity of a Research Associate, I currently focus on insulin?s metabolic and vasculature actions. I have authored a total of nine peer-reviewed articles in top-quality journals, including PNAS, Biochim Biophys Acta and Journal of Diabes. Now I am serving as an editorial board member for Journal of Clinical and Molecular Endocrinology as well as a reviewer board member for Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery, International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Biomedical Journal of Scientific & Technical Research.

Research Interest
