Biography

I, Olena Andriivna Fedorenko, was born and grow up in Ukraine. I graduated from the National University of “Kiev-Mohyla Academy”, Department of Natural Sciences (Kiev, Ukraine) with the MS diploma with honor. In 2004 I entered PhD program at Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kiev, Ukraine) and in 2007 defended my PhD thesis “Biophysical properties of ion channels in the nuclear envelope membranes” under supervision of Dr. Sergey M. Marchenko. Then I got the position of the Junior researcher in the Department of General Physiology of Nervous System in Bogomoletz Institute, then - the Researcher in the Department of Brain Physiology and in 2011 - the Senior researcher with my own group and projects in the same Department. Since September 2014 I work as the Postdoctoral Research Associate in Colin W. Taylor's lab in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Cambridge, (United Kingdom).

Research Interest

Mechanisms of the neuronal cell functioning, calcium signalization, ion channels, brain physiology, neurological diseases and ways of their possible prevention.
