Research Interest

My research interests are mainly focused on improving the life standard of elderly with special emphasis on the elderly people in the state of Qatar. I was the co-Investigator in a Study Epidemiology of Vitamin D Deficiency Among Elderly Population. The research was intended to know the prevalence of vitamin D Deficiency in the elderly in the state of Qatar. A high prevalence of VDD (72%) was observed among elderly population in Qatar. Lower VDL was associated with higher HbA1c and lower HDL levels. Further studies are warranted to evaluate whether vitamin D supplementation controls DM and low HDL levels among elderly population.
