Dr. Louis K Prom is a Federal Government Scientist in the Agricultural Research Service Agency and also Adjunct Professor, Texas A&M University, Department of Plant Pathology & Microbiology. Dr. Prom did his PHD from North Dakota State University on 1995.Dr. Prom have more than 70 peer-reviewed article. Dr. Prom`s research interest is to develop control strategies through the identification of resistance sources, identification of molecular markers, and the development of diagnostic probes for fast screening of susceptible/resistant cultivars to minimize the impact of sorghum diseases.
Research Interest
My focus is to develop control strategies through the identification of resistance sources, identification of molecular markers, and the development of diagnostic probes for fast screening of susceptible/resistant cultivars to minimize the impact of sorghum diseases such as anthracnose, grain mold, head smut, and downy mildew. These fungal pathogens are emerging problems that affect sorghum production efficiency, grain quality, and the overall economic and nutritional value of the grain
