Biography

Dr. Cook Simmons is a Clinical Associate Professor at Texas A&M University in the Educational Psychology Department specializing in school psychology. She provides clinical supervision to doctoral-level graduate students engaging in practica in a variety of settings including school districts, counseling clinics, and hospitals. Additionally, she teaches courses in assessment and intervention to students in the counseling and school psychology programs. Dr. Cook Simmons has previous experiences teaching undergraduate courses in general and educational psychology, as well as graduate-level courses in assessment and counseling techniques. Dr. Cook Simmons continues to practice as a licensed psychologist and licensed specialist in school psychology. Much of her clinical experiences were in the Houston Independent School District providing psychological services to students ages 3-22, faculty, staff, and families. Her duties included crisis intervention, group and individual counseling, psychological assessment, and providing consultation to help children with behavioral, emotional, and learning problems.
