Dr. Juan Gabriel CostaProfessor, Physicochemical Department, Faculty of Biochemistry and Biological Sciences of the National University of the Litoral, Santa Fe, Argentina
Biography
Juan Gabriel Costa is a Bachelor of Biotechnology and has a PhD in Biological Sciences. He is a scientific researcher who worked in numerous public laboratories in Brazil and Argentina. He specialized mainly in three areas:
Immunology: especially in clinical diagnosis and immunochemical, but also he worked on vaccine projects.
Genetic engineering: although it was mainly in the area of microbiology, his first incursions was in plants projects.
Bioinformatics: in predictive programs about immunology and protein structures. Also he works mining data programs.
Furthermore he worked in microbiology, statistics and physical chemistry.
In his research projects, he has worked directly with different organisms: Arabidopsis thaliana, Trypanosoma cruzi, Toxoplasma gondii, Escherichia coli and different Bacillus strains. At the present time, he is teaching at the Cátedra fe FisicoquÃmica de la Facultad de BioquÃmica y Ciencias Biológicas de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral en Santa Fe, Argentina.
