Research Interest

My research interests concentrate on molecular diagnostic of pathogenic virus, microbial source tracing, rapid diagnostic of microbiology and environmental microbial biotechnology. I am especially interested in developing and applying detection method to identify the emerging and re-emerging infectious agents, especially these imported pathogen. As a microbiologist, I am always devotes myself to develop some rapid, accurate and specific detection method to identify virus and bacteria. Meanwhile, I analyze the subtype or genotype, evolution and origin of these imported pathogen by next-generation sequencing technology. I also concentrate on molecular aspects of the control and prevention of viral infections with vaccines and antiviral agents and on the use of viruses as gene therapy vectors, as well as research on other agents such as prions. I give some attention on isolation, morphology, immunology, genetics and pathogenesis of these viruses detected by my laboratory.
