Creative Scientific Writer at Seeding STEM, Dubai, UAE
Arbab Khan works as a creative scientific writer at SeedingSTEM. She writes for audiences varying from high school, university students to scientists.
Dr. Khan received her education at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh India. She did her B.Sc in Biochemistry in 2007 and M.Sc. in Biotechnology in 2009. She pursued Ph.D. from Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, AMU, where she worked on microbiology and multiple drug resistance in bacteria. After her Ph.D, she briefly worked on a research project studying microbial diversity in anaerobic digesters at Zayed University, Dubai.
Dr. Khan enjoys reading and travelling. She presently lives in Dubai, UAE.
My research interest lies in multiple drug resistance (MDR) in bacteria and proteomics. I have investigated about different mechanisms employed by bacteria especially KPC-2 producing MDR strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae to evade even the most advanced and recent antibiotics. I have also identified some novel compounds using in silico approach that exhibited better inhibition of KPC-2 enzyme compared to conventional inhibitors.
