Steve joined the Picker Institute in 2008 as a statistician and analyst. His work involves design and validation of questionnaires and scales, analysis and reporting of research data, and provision of statistical advice. Examples include work on the national NHS patient surveys.

Steve has worked in statistical analysis since joining the National Foundation for Educational Research in 1989, working with analysis methods, psychometrics and assessment theory as well as social research methods generally. Steve was the director of a number of national evaluation and development projects.

Steve Sizmur has a BEd (1st class honours) and PhD in Science Education. He is first-named author on a range of published book chapters, reports, and academic journal papers as well as being a collaborator for others, and has presented research findings at international conferences.
