Dr Sonia Panchal graduated from University of Liverpool with honours and is currently a specialist trainee in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine based in the East Midlands.

Throughout her clinical career she has developed a passion for the effective delivery and quality of medical education and training within the healthcare system.  In her various representative roles she has developed a proactive approach towards medical leadership, which she feels is vital to help shape the future of NHS services.

Dr Panchal will be based at the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Health Education England. Within these organisations she hopes to gain further understanding of the NHS and the current challenges it faces in relation to education and training, whilst appreciating the political and economic influences on a national level.
