He is well recognized scientist in the field of Chemistry, and has significantly contributed in the field of Pharmaceutical &Medicinal Chemistry. He is working on the design and syntheses of novel prodrugs, mutual prodrugs and heterocyclic compounds of potential pharmaceutical interest. His main interest is in newheterocyclic chemical entities aspossible drug molecules. He has done research on various synthetic moieties having potentialanticancer, antitubercular, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities. He is propagating greener methods for syntheses such as Microwave/UV techniques, water as solvent orsolvent free reaction, which save time, yield better and cause less
pollution. Recognizing his contribution, He was conferred`Scientist of the year award-2008` by National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), New Delhi. He has been offered`visiting fellow` position in 2013 by Youngstown State University,Ohio, USA.He has published more than 150 articles in reputed National and International journals,presented more than 50 papers including invited professional presentations in India & USA, and have coordinated several research projects worth more than Rs. 60 lakhsfunded by AICTE, UGC, AYUSH and DST. He is Editor-in-Chiefof Ally Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (AJMC), and in the editorial board of several Journals.He is expert reviewer of many national and international journals. He has collaboration with several research organizations like National institute of Health (NIH, USA), National Cancer Institute (NCI, USA), The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID, USA). He has been supervisor of 15 Ph.D. scholars and 15 M.Pharm students. He has written two books; Practical Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry (Elsevier Publication) and Pharmaceutical Biostatistics (Birla Publication). Also, five chapters in `Medicinal Chemistry and one chapter in `Pharmaceutical Analysis`, NISCAIR`s e-books for pharmacy students, to his credit. He is also a recipient of FPGEC (Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Exam, 2013),
USA certificate.Husain is a member of several professional bodies including American Peptide Society (APS), Canadian Society for
Pharmaceutical Science (CSPS), Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), National Environment Science Academy (NESA),and Indian Societyof Analytical Scientists (ISAS). He has served as Warden- UG boys hostel, Asst. Dean Student Welfare (DSW),and member, Academic Council, Jamia Hamdard. His biography is published and regularly updated in `Who is Who`, IBC, Great Britain.
