Biography

Elizabeth M. Venditti, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the University of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine with a secondary appointment in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Venditti has been a key part of the DPP Lifestyle Resource Core since its inception in 1996 and currently serves as its director. She is a co-investigator for the DPP Outcomes Study and several other obesity trials. She has extensive experience in the development, training, implementation and ongoing supervision of long-term behavioral weight loss protocols for individual and group interventions. Dr. Venditti is currently the Principal Investigator of an NIH-funded dissemination study examining the impact of GLB on cardio-metabolic risk factors and physical function among individuals aged 65 to 80. Dr. Venditti has multiple publications in the field of behavioral lifestyle intervention for diabetes prevention and cardiovascular risk reduction.
