Biography

I am a Chartered Psychologist, Registered Practitioner Health Psychologist and SeniorLecturer in Health Psychology and Research Methods across the undergraduate Psychology programme, Msc Health Psychology and Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology. I am Co-Programme Manager for the MSc Health Psychology (with Dr Rachel Gilibrand) and Module leader for Health, Stress and Cognition (MSc) and L3 Health Psychology  (U/grad module). I supervise a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and doctorates.

My research based at the Centre for Appearance Research focuses on psychosocial adjustment to appearance altering conditions and evaluating psychosocial interventions for people with appearance concerns. I am also a member of the Public Health and Well-being Research Group with a particular focus on smoking behaviour and interventions (such as smoke free spaces and smoking cessation).
