Samuel L KipoS L Kipo is a lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, KNUST, Ghana.
Biography
Born on 27/02/65 in Ghana. I am a Ghanaian. I obtained B Pharm. Degree in July 1991, and became registered pharmacist of Ghana in 1993.
Since September 1991 I have been involved in higher education. From Teaching assistance (1991-92) and later demonstrator during my graduate studies and after M.Pharm graduation became full time faculty member in September 1997.
I have been involved in various researches in drug and herbal medicine formulation. I have supervised over 100 undergraduate final year and three graduate students in Pharmaceutics and herbal medicine.
I have served the Faculty and the University in various areas. I have 19 peer review publications.
Apart from pharmaceutics, I handle dosage form calculations, GMP as applied to the manufacturing of herbal products, and herbal dispensing laboratory in the department of herbal medicine in the Faculty.
I have been a resource person in some herbalist training on herbal dosage forms.
Research Interest
Current research interest is characterization, physicochemical and formulation studies of plant gums and quality assessment of some herbal dosage forms in the Ghanaian market.
